Snowshoeing & Winter Walks

Sauze d’Oulx offers a wide variety of walks each with different types of terrain as well as four grades of difficulty for you to choose from allowing you to select the walks most suited to your ability. Snowshoeing/ winter walking is available in Sauze, Jouvenceaux and the middle/low part of the Gran Bosco National Park.

Snowshoes and poles are available for hire from Sauze’s ski hire shops and from “The Laghetto” in Gran Villard.

The times indicated on the PDF (below) are approximate and may vary according to weather conditions and your abilities. The indicated trails are to be considered safe only under normal weather conditions and are not monitored. Before any excursion please make sure you check the weather forecast or ask the Sauze d’Oulx tourist office. Since sudden changes in weather conditions may reduce the safety level, it is also suggested to bring always with you an emergency kit (personal locator beacon, shovel etc).

It is always necessary to wear suitable clothes and shoes for the mountains and season. In winter snowshoes might be helpful.

Please note: in winter time the trails are not maintained. After snowfall the path may not be clearly marked.

Before any excursion please, check the weather forecast and the avalanche risk at the ARPA Piemonte web site or ask the Sauze d’Oulx Tourist Office.
