Sauze d’Oulx is a winter ski and summer resort in the Italian Alps. Located in the upper Susa Valley, Piemonte, at 1509 meters above sea level. Sauze is a part of the extensive Via Lattea (Milky Way) ski area, covering over 400km of piste with over 72 lifts, the highest being at 2825m.

Sauze d’Oulx is nicknamed “the balcony of the Alps” due to its stunning position overlooking the high Susa Valley. It is one of the most important resorts in the Via Lattea (Milky Way) ski area.
Sauze has a thriving community all year around. Shops covering most needs from hardware to clothing by way of hairdressers and supermarkets can be found throughout Sauze along with cafes serving the best Italian coffee, cake shops, bars, restaurants, sports shops and many more.
In the old town stands the Church of San Giovanni Battista. Built in 1532, it has wonderful with columns in carved wood framing a painting of Christ’s baptism. The church also has a fine bell tower in the Romanesque style. The ancient fountain, just outside the church, was erected in the 16th century,
In the ancient heart of Jouvenceaux is the Chapel of St. Anthony Abbot with 15th Century frescoes adorning the interior and exterior walls representing stories of St Anthony’s life, typically St. Antony with a piglet at his feet – the fat of this animal was used to cure poor people from many diseases.
Wooden sculptures can be found throughout the area, the result of a project called Art in the Forest which brought artists from all over the world to create contemporary and original sculptures that adorn the streets, forests and parks of Sauze d’Oulx and its surroundings.
