Places to Visit
With mountains for skiing, hiking and exploring, restaurants, bars and much more, there’s plenty to keep you occupied in Sauze d’Oulx. Should you want to explore a little further and see what the area has to offer, there are a number of day trips along this beautiful ancient valley stretching out amongst the northern Italian Alps. These include:
The Gran Bosco is on Sauze’s doorstep and offers a great day (or days!) out exploring the paths and trails, maybe seeing some of the wildlife and stunning Alpine flowers.
The Upper Susa Valley has many fortifications from many battles this page gives you a guide on some of those places.
With Roman remains including the Arch of Augustus, Susa is worth seeing and an easy trip from Sauze. In addition, Susa is close to the Abbey of Novalesa and Moncenisio.
Turin’s an easy train ride from Sauze d’Oulx and a great trip for lovers of museums, chocolate, architecture and shopping!
Easily visited by car (bus is also possible), why not have a taste of the highest town in France? Briancon old town is well worth visiting plus there are forts, shops, cafes and more.
