Twinning

For many years Sauze d’Oulx has hosted visitors from Angus in Scotland who came to enjoy the great skiing the area has to offer along with summer activities in beauty of the Italian Alps. This developed in particular to special links with Edzell, a charming village in Angus.

We are proud to say that an official Friendship Agreement now exists between Edzell and Sauze d’Oulx. The agreement was formalised by the Mayor of Sauze d’Oulx, Mauro Meneguzzi, and Councillor Bob Myles of Edzell.

Edzell is a small Georgian-era planned town with an interesting story, previously named Slateford, the settlement was expanded in 1840 and today boasts some stunning buildings and open spaces. The picturesque Edzell Castle with beautifully decorated gardens and the stunning Dalhousie Arch that welcomes you on arrival are just some of the features which give Edzell its charm.

The area of Dundee & Angus combines scenic outdoor space, home to the Angus Glens and the Aberdeen Angus beef, and the world famous Arbroath Smokie – along with the thriving metropolitan City of Dundee which is the country’s first UNESCO City of Design.
